In my opinion, summer fashion is easier than fall and winter fashion. By that I mean that you don't have to think too much about layering and proportions and tights and shoes that are cute but don't get messed up in the snow. You can basically just throw on something light and go. The recent temperatures, though, have made things a bit more difficult, because I'm too hot to care what I wear--whatever is least clingy and keeps my thighs from sticking together wins!
The heat is keeping me from feeling particularly fashionable, and I wonder if that's the case for others. If so, I have a tip to keep you feeling stylish despite the oppressive temps:
WEAR A GREAT HAT!
Honestly, if it's too hot for you to care what you wear, it's likely too hot for anyone else to notice, either. But a cute hat can be your "thing." It can be how you stand out from all of the other sweaty folks. And, bonus…it protects your face from the sun and covers up a bad hair day!
Up the ante with a great
pair of
sunglasses, and you're good to go! I think we're going to get a break from the heat for the next few days, but when the mercury inevitably rises again, try it -- let me know how many compliments you get!

Great post! I've been wearing hats for three summers now, and I don't know why I didn't sooner! The shade provided by the brim definitely keeps me cooler. My husband thinks my hats are silly, but I don't care :) I wish more women wore hats!
ReplyDeleteAmy, what do dudes know, anyway! I bet you look fabulous in your "silly" hats! Thanks for the comment!
