I was heading into the grocery store the other morning, and I noticed two women leaving Starbucks together. It looked like maybe they were wrapping up a business meeting. They were both relatively put-together in business-casual, leaning toward trendy ensembles. One of the women looked confident and lovely, but despite their similar outfits, the other woman's appearance made me chuckle. It took me a minute to realize why. She was wearing sky-high (platform) heels, and she was walking like a fool. Like a foal. Like both of those things.
I am all for wearing heels, but mainly because they lengthen my legs and make me look a little more graceful than I am. I don't know what her legs looked like (the wobbling was distracting me), and graceful she was not. I shudder to think of the icing and ibuprofen-popping that must have taken place after a full work day in those shoes.
Killer shoes (like killer women) come in all shapes and sizes, so if you're hobbling around the shoe department, take another look around. Your feet and your pride will thank me.
Have a great weekend!
