Last night, my friend, Isa, and I made our way to the Carytown Fashion Showcase, which was part of Richmond's 5th Annual Fashion Week festivities. I'm ashamed to admit that, until this year, I didn't even realize RVA Fashion Week existed. It certainly does, and it is pretty exciting. Events have been taking place all week, from local designer spotlights to a gala. On Wednesday, Trina Turk made an appearance at Saks 5th Avenue to help celebrate (her only in-store appearance this Spring, apparently)!

The fashion show was great! Multiple boutiques in Carytown participated and sent models down the runway in their head-to-toe looks. My favorite ensembles were from Pink (love that place!) and Phoenix, but they were all gorgeous.

Can Can Brasserie, a favorite Richmond restaurant, hosted a happy hour after the show for socializing and networking. Neither Isa nor I had eaten dinner, so we grabbed a table before the crowd arrived and scarfed down some delicious food. I didn't do a lot of networking...the crowd was so young! But, it was nice to dip my feet in the Richmond fashion scene, and of course, it's always fun catching up with friends! I'll look forward to next year's events.
For now, I'm looking forward to a low-key and sunny weekend. What are your weekend plans?
